Before the first round we publish the head of a hash chain. Each round uses the next secret seed in that chain, and every seed was fixed when the chain was made, so no result can be chosen later.
When betting closes, the round's seed is combined with a fingerprint of every bet on the table. Neither we nor any player can steer that combination: we do not place the bets, and players do not know the seed.
The combination picks the landing pocket. Trail 1 and Trail 2 are the two pockets just before it in the ball's direction: clockwise on odd-numbered rounds, anticlockwise on even ones. Once the round ends its seed is published, and hashing it gives the seed published before it.
